Numbers talk..... Our expertise has been proven in results.

Utilising real skills

The directors of Spectrum have over seventy years of combined expertise in Australian financial markets, and have been managing the Spectrum Wholesale Enhanced Income Fund for seven years. This is a complex asset class that is unforgiving of inexperience, but highly rewarding for those with real skill. Our team only works with assets it knows intimately, and a strategy framework that has proven itself each year over the years.

Setting investment goals

Our goals are not set by market fashion. They are set by our team with the singular focus to maximise the return in our asset class, minimise every risk metric in each investment, and provide liquidity for our investors. As each team member is making decisions they have a clear line of sight to the fund's overarching goals. Modelling activities are are implemented to achieve these goals.

Modelling the portfolios

Modelling importantly establishes a series of investment strategies to achieve the goals set for each portfolio. These are in both actionable and measurable forms. Once planning decisions are made, the team then executes them tied to accurate metric values so monitoring can occur.

Monitoring performance progress

This step involves collecting information from multiple sources, including performance, and information feeds. This is then converted into consistent charts, reports and alerts, so accurate forecasts can be calculated. This quantitative monitoring allows the team to identify variances, and alert to appropriate action. To maintain superior performance figures, it is imperative that the team is informed of issues that may impact on performance, allowing timely portfolio management decisions.

Fine-tuning fund investments

With the historical and current results of monitoring, fine-tuning of investment strategy and investment mix, decisions to buy / sell or hold can be made with confidence and actioned as appropriate. This timing could be weekly, daily, or even hourly in times of market uncertainty. With constant fine-tuning activities occurring, returns can be maximised.

Analysing fund returns

With the goal of maximising income, each small variation is vitally important to the team. Monitoring fund performance and attribution analysis will identify key variances and areas for further investigation.

Reporting performance results

Investors rightly want to be accurately informed of performanceresults. and with the monitoring and analysis processes we go through, such information is not published quarterly as just figures in magazine lists, but in regular email updates which which include some of the market analysis, global issue commentary, and financial forecasts we can rely on as fundamental decision indicators.
